Beijing Capital Airlines Plans Recruit of Record Number of Pilots

Beijing Capital Airlines is looking for experienced pilots as part of its recruitment drive to double the airline’s present number of captains.

Pilot recruitment roadshows will be taking place across 5 cities, including Santiago and Mexico City this spring and European destinations later this year, in a bid to attract experienced pilots to try a taste of life in the Middle Kingdom. Direct entry captains will help to operate one of the youngest and largest Airbus jetliner fleets in China, joining over 1000 highly trained pilots flying a fleet of 71 aircraft in the Airbus series.

Beijing Capital Airlines allows direct entry captains to choose the bustling capital, Beijing, the sun kissed beach resorts, Sanya and Haikou on the tropical island of Hainan, or the ancient cities of Xian and Hangzhou as their base, offering flexible work hours and unique opportunities for development, such as the chance to transfer aircraft model and train as an instructor.

“As part of our training programs, captains of Airbus A320 aircraft will be able to train to fly Airbus A330 or A350 aircraft or become fully qualified pilot instructors and hand on their knowledge to a new generation of pilots.” - Jian Zhao, Head of Flight Operations at Beijing Capital Airlines

As part of our training programs, captains of Airbus A320 aircraft will be able to train to fly Airbus A330 or A350 aircraft or become fully qualified pilot instructors and hand on their knowledge to a new generation of pilots.” explains Jian Zhao, Head of Flight Operations. “We want to provide our pilots with a platform for progression, so that they are able to continue doing what they love, but can also develop and pass on their skills and ultimately, prolong their careers.”

“At the same time, we know the importance of a good work-life balance and allow our pilots to choose from 4-4 and 6-2 contractual packages, so that they have more time to spend with their families and can commute between their home countries as necessary.”

Beijing Capital Airlines currently operates more than 130 routes, including 17 international routes in 9 countries to 73 tourist destinations around the globe, all in all, covering East and Southeast Asia, North America, Australia and Europe.

Following the signing of the trilateral cooperation agreement between China and Portugal to promote links between China and Portuguese speaking countries, Beijing Capital Airlines plans to launch the first direct flight to Portugal from China. The Hangzhou – Beijing – Lisbon route will help connect Europe, Latin America and Africa with the Far East.

With the airline also set to launch new routes to Europe, Australia and the USA in the next two years and expand its fleet to more than a 100 aircraft in the next five years, Beijing Capital Airlines is now hot on the search for experienced captains.
